The resume is clear enough

Can a recruiter clearly tell what roles you’ve performed and what projects you’ve worked on from skimming through your resume? If someone can’t quickly tell what you’ve done in your recent career from your resume, you’ve failed! Anyone should be able to pick up your resume and instantly tell you’re a project manager!

It’s boring to read?

Does every line of your resume POP! Your aim is to make the recruiter want to read the next line.

If your resume is boring it highlights two things, you aren’t selling yourself properly and you aren’t telling the whole story.  What reads better “Project Manager for ABC Infrastructure Project” or “Project Manager for $4M Infrastructure Project delivering $6M in efficiencies to ABC”? Wow.

Your value is unclear?

For every project you’ve managed you MUST describe what value you provided to the project.  You want to add comments like:

• Through my contribution this project was completed on time and within scope
• Without my superior communication skills this project would not have achieved the tight delivery time frames imposed
• Utilising my management skills I was able to reduce the project expenses by 8% resulting in a $50,000 saving

Doing these things right will ensure that the project managers resume you submit is your best.
